This book was a custom order. The customer wanted to incorporate
images of the pentacle with the sun and moon and to have a triquetra present. Notice the subtle staining used to help accentuate each individual element. Great care went into finding just the right piece of Ash wood for the stunning grain pattern.
So generally magical is the Ash Tree that it's wood is used for Yule logs and Maypoles, and in some traditions the brooms of witches. It is a wood of balance and the marriage of opposites. It engenders Intelligence, wit, communication, knowledge and curiosity. Ash is as much attuned to Elemental Water as it is to Earth, and so is the consummate wood of growth and fecundity, mothers and daughters, and female sovereignty. It is well-suited for shamanic magick, for protection, to enhance one's skills at any art or craft, to the magick of wells and caves, to Earth as the vessel of water, to finding roots or working with plant roots, to the magick of horses, oceans, conquest, justice, and weatherworking. The World Tree of the Old Norse, Yggdrasil, was Ash.
